A very nice Jeff Wagner Signature Series fly rod, model 383AF, 8'3", 3-piece, 2-tip and built for a #4 line. Serial #416-2. 99% Mint. The only sign of use is a faint reel foot impression on the slide band seat. The rod has a pleasing medium action I would call semi-full flexing. This is another excellent rod from Jeff.  Three up node pattern construction with flamed cane. Good varnish without flaws. Agate stripper and Snake Brand snake guides. The guides are wrapped brown with a single turn of black edging on all of them. The step ferrules are oxidized. The ferrules are fitted with aluminum and cork ferrule plugs. The keeper is on the wrap flat. The rod is lettered "J.D. Wagner-Maker" two flats left and one flat left "Model 383 AF 4wt". The grip is 6 1/4" long and turned to a blunt cigar profile. The slide band cap and ring seat wood is perfectly varnished and is an unknown but spectacular burl.  The cap and ring oxidation is 100%. The rod is packed in a tan cloth bag with a leather pull tab. The large size tube is painted black with brass fittings and Jeff's gold and black sticker.
