Gautam Buddha, originally known as Siddhartha Gautam, was born as a prince in present-day Nepal. He lived a privileged life within the palace walls, unaware of the hardships of the world outside.

• Buddhism's Foundation: After achieving enlightenment, Siddhartha became known as Gautam Buddha and shared his insights, which became the foundation of Buddhism. His teachings, often referred to as the teachings of Shakyamuni, focus on overcoming suffering through the Noble Eightfold Path and the practice of mindfulness.
