The Whale Seaward 6 Gallon Hot Water Heater with Front Heat Exchanger – Stainless Steel – 240V (Model F750) is a premium marine-grade water heater designed to provide reliable hot water on boats, yachts, and other recreational craft. With a 6 gallon (23 L) capacity and 240 V electric power system, this heater ensures continuous hot water for showers, sinks, and galley use while you’re on board.
Featuring a front heat exchanger, the F750 efficiently utilizes engine heat to pre-heat water when underway, reducing the need for shore power and improving overall energy efficiency. Built with a stainless steel exterior jacket, this model offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability in harsh marine environments.
Designed for horizontal mounting, the water heater includes double-wall heat exchangers, integrated safety controls, a pressure relief valve, and a convenient temperature/pressure drain tube for simple maintenance. Brackets welded to the inner tank enhance installation security and ensure stable operation on rough seas.

The primary difference between the F750 and the S750 is the location of the heat exchanger ports. The F750 features ports on the front (the same side as the electrical access and T&P valve), while the S750 features them on the rear. Choosing the F750 simplifies installation if your engine or coolant lines are located in front of where the heater is mounted, reducing the need for extra hose length and potentially restrictive bends.
To ensure a long life for the aluminum tank, always install a Magnesium Anode Rod (Whale Part # 74556). In marine environments, the anode rod is the only thing protecting your tank from galvanic corrosion. Check the anode annually and replace it once it is more than half-consumed. Note: Never use caustic chemicals to flush your engine cooling system while the heat exchanger is connected, as this can severely damage the aluminum exchanger coil.
