This Sri Lankan vetiver occupies an intermediate position between two of the world's leading vetiver references: Java and Haiti.

Its aromatic profile combines moderate smoky facets with green, fruity, and woody notes, resulting in a particularly elegant balance. It presents some of the deep, slightly smoky character typical of Java vetiver, though without reaching its intensity. At the same time, it develops citrus and fruity nuances reminiscent of grapefruit, albeit more subtly than in some Haitian vetivers.

The evolution reveals notes of freshly cut grass, aromatic roots, damp earth, and soft woods. The overall impression is balanced, refined, and particularly versatile from a perfumery standpoint.

Curing Process

On September 5, 2025, the curing process for 1 kilogram of this essential oil begins.

Extended curing allows the different aromatic components to continue integrating over time, smoothing out any rough edges and encouraging the development of new olfactory facets. In high-quality vetiver, this process typically contributes greater roundness, depth, and aromatic complexity.

Because the oil was originally distilled in 2020, it already shows considerable evolution compared to a freshly produced vetiver. The additional curing aims to further enhance its most elegant and complex characteristics.

Sri Lankan vetiver is considerably less common on the market than Haitian or Java vetiver. Its balanced profile of freshness, fruity notes, aromatic roots, and smoky nuances makes it a particularly interesting raw material for woody, fresh, oriental, and nature-inspired compositions.
