For sale here is a pre-1925 Jim Payne Model 206 -- 9′ 3/2 for a 5 weight line. The rod weighs 4.55 oz. and the action is slow wet fly. Cap and ring with Spanish cedar spacer. Red agate stripping guide. Wraps are brown with maroon edges as well as purple edges at the keeper and male ferrules. The rod was restored by Walt Carpenter in 1989 using proper silks and guides. Since then, the first guide below the tip top on each tip section has been replaced and re-wrapped, and is in need of another re-wrapping. The grip shows slight ridging. Overall excellent condition with all sections full length and reasonably straight. The ferrule sizes are 10/64 & 16/64 and the ferrule fit is good, but not excellent. Replacement Leonard bag and tube.
