Mega Symphonia and Mega Brave reintroduce Mega Evolution into the card game for the first time since the XY Series and Sun & Moon Series, as powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards worth 3 Prize cards, utilizing the typical stage and Pokémon Evolution of their depicted Pokémon. This variant of Pokémon ex uses a black-and-yellow  symbol. The first cards, Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex, were revealed in the Pokémon Presents presentation on Pokémon Day 2025 with a standalone trailer. Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia also introduce Full Art (SR/Super Rare, equivalent to English's  ultra rare) prints of Item cards, Pokémon Tool cards, and Stadium cards for the first time.

Each sealed Japanese Mega Symphonia Booster Box contains 30 booster packs containing 5 random cards each.
